Who We Are






Allison Smith Ramos established Allison Weddings in 1994 to fulfill a very strong desire to help people plan their own weddings. With a background in wedding invitation design and production, she was initially self-taught (as resources were scarce) until she graduated from ACPWC as a Certified Wedding Consultant. From there, she became an instructor for the Association, teaching many students from all over, the ins and out of the wedding business.

With hundreds of weddings successfully planned and executed throughout the years – Allison decided to return to her roots, where she would best serve her audience through wedding consulting/coaching and planning education.





Kathy Lewis has been a valued member of the Allison Weddings team for 4 years. Kathy’s experience managing large teams, keen eye for detail, a creative mind for problem-solving and her knack for organizing make her the ideal wedding planner. Kathy loves to create beautiful moments in time that will be remembered forever. You will almost always catch Kathy with a smile on her face as she has a positive outlook on life and believes that laughter is the key to getting through any hardship. Kathy has a reassuring, calm ease about her that our clients truly appreciate and trust.

Kathy lives in the Santa Cruz area with her husband and two children. She loves to travel the world and is always daydreaming about the next destination on her list. Kathy loves to spend her free time volunteering, whether that be at her kid’s school or with The American Red Cross, reading, listening to music (preferably live) and making coffee dates with friends to solve the problems of the world. We are so thankful to have Kathy on our team!





Michele Garcia is the specialty designer and production assistant for Allison Weddings. Michele owns and operates a successful, online wedding accessories and paper goods business, Heart Paper Soul. She started her business in 2002, and in 2003, joined forces with Allison Weddings. Together they design and produce custom specialty pieces to complete the look of each event. Michele has a natural ability to pull a unifying design theme from the inspirations a client presents to her. Her intimate connection with the wedding day pieces and her eye for style make her a natural for the hands on production of the events themselves.

Michele’s work has been recognized in numerous publications over the years and was even mentioned on Oprah! Michele is an Allison Weddings alumni, who continues to provide creative contributions to the team.





Kristen Farmer has assisted and volunteered for weddings and events within her community for many years. She joined the Allison Weddings team in 2011 and has become a valuable day-of production assistant. Kristen always comes to the table with a willingness to work hard and a strong work ethic. Kristen is also very dedicated to her work with Respite Care for Elders, and in her free time, she loves to run long distance on the beach and spend quality time with her son, who is her greatest joy in life.





Laura Hansen is the newest member to join the Allison Weddings team. Years ago she left her job in corporate to seek a more fulfilling role where she can make a difference in people’s lives. It took only one wedding for her to find her new love of helping to create the perfect day, working alongside the team who created her very own special day nearly 10 years ago! Laura’s extensive experience in data management, her eye for detail, and her get-it-done approach make her a perfect day-of coordinator. From back-end management of ceremony and reception detail organization to day-of coordination and setup, she strives to make every detail perfect.

Laura lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains with her husband and their two children. When she’s not working or chasing after her kids, she loves to cook, bake and explore the beauty of the central coast with her family. We are so excited to have Laura on our AW team!
